In the past couple of weeks, Good Sam’s has been through a lot of changes! We said thank you to our transition pastor, The Rev. Dr. Amy Lindeman Allen, and welcomed our new vicar, The Rev. Beth Scriven. As a token of our gratitude for Pastor Amy’s time with us over the past few months, on behalf of the congregation our wardens gave Pastor Amy a gift card to Boulder Creek and an arrangement of tulips to plant in her garden. Our transition committee has also been hard at work to help Mother Beth feel welcome and at home as a new Hoosier with a welcome basket, a virtual meet-and-greet, a meal train, and more. Both Pastor Amy and Mother Beth have shared notes of gratitude for you and all you have done to welcome them.

From Pastor Amy
Blessings to you in this Easter Season! I want to extend my sincere gratitude to you both for your warm welcome of my family and I into the Good Sam’s community during your transition period and for the lovely plant and generous gift card for a family meal together. Erik and I will both be fully vaccinated in the next couple of weeks and look forward to enjoying our first family restaurant meal on the Boulder Creek patio soon thereafter!

Meanwhile, my children have adopted the sprouting plant and are looking forward to seeing it grow and bloom. Please know that I celebrate with you as you welcome Mother Beth and look forward to opportunities to connect with both Mother Beth and the Good Sam’s community in the future.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Amy

From Mother Beth
Dear Good Samaritans,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome you have already shown me as I become a Good Samaritan! I especially loved the slideshow from Good Sam’s Kids and Youth, and the orchid from the welcome basket now graces my home office (off camera, where I can see it from my desk). I’m eager to try out all the restaurants and businesses you recommended as well in the coming weeks. I look forward to getting to know each of you soon, and may God grant us many joyful years together!
In Christ’s great love,
Mother Beth
