Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, when we reflect on our faith and lives as we prepare for Easter and the renewal of our new life in Christ. We’ll have two opportunities to observe this solemn occasion: at noon, we’ll offer a brief outdoor service (exact location TBA) with Ashes to Go for those who prefer a shorter or better ventilated option. At 7 p.m. we’ll have a joint service with Messiah Lutheran (next door to Harris), where we’ll receive ashes on our heads to remind us that we are dust and to dust we will one day return, and Holy Communion to remind us that we are God’s and to God we will return. Join us on Wednesday, March 2, for this holy day!
