Our Social Justice Committee is planning three book clubs this year to address racism and racial reconciliation. We invite you to join one or more of the book clubs.
First up in April is I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown. In June, we’ll enjoy a video discussion of the book, The Black Church: This is Our Story, This is Our Song. by Henry Gates, and in late summer/fall, we’ll read The Firebrand and the First Lady. Reading grows our empathy and compassion for BIPOC. Knowledge gives us the tools to be better allies. Book discussions allow us to grow deeper relationships with our church families. Look for more info, dates, and signups to come. Questions? Reach out to Deb Samples.
