Growing Courageous Neighbors
In August 2019, the people of Good Samaritan embarked on an exploration of how we can grow as neighbors, especially as reconcilers & healers around issues of race & ethnicity.
We are all journeying together to examine our own biases, privileges, and stories of race and ethnicity, to think about how we can take helpful next steps to listen to the stories of people of many backgrounds and perspectives, and to grow in our faith as we strive toward God’s dream of beloved community. There are no experts in this work, and we are all students, all with something new to learn, try, or ponder.
You can find our original work completed in August 2019-June 2020 here. We also have assembled a helpful set of resources here.
The work of racial reconciliation and renewal and of seeking justice and peace does not end with one programming cycle. We are looking forward to continuing this work through action, reflection, and through seeking justice in our community. A team is meeting in July 2020 to plan our next steps, and we would welcome the opportunity to include you.
