Spiritual Offerings for Adults
Good Samaritan offers a variety of pathways, gatherings, groups, and workshops for adults to grow & deepen in their spiritual path.
Small Groups
Doubters & Skeptics
A group where there is a lot of freedom to ask difficult questions about faith without judgement, our Doubters & Skeptics offer conversation and exploration. Often featuring a guest speaker, no questions are off limits when we get together. You don’t have to be a Christian, Episcopalian, or of any professed faith to join in the conversation, and this is not a “bait and switch” gathering that has an end goal of change or conversion. For more information, or to sign up, use the form, below.
Good Sam’s Book Group
If you like to read, or if you enjoy good conversation about books, this is the community for you. Our Book Group meets almost every month for good conversation about books both sacred and secular. The best part? You don’t have to read the book to be a part of the chat. (Though it sometimes helps!) Open to everyone, we look forward to including you. Good Sam’s 101
Are you new to Good Samaritan? Welcome! Good Sam’s 101 is for you. We meet to explore what it means to be an open-minded follower of Christ, what it means to be an Episcopalian, what it means to be a Good Samaritan, and what all this might mean for your own life and spiritual journey. You’ll have plenty of chances to ask questions, learn a little more about what we believe, and see if Good Samaritan might be a good fit for you. At the end of our morning, you’ll learn steps to take if you’d like to get involved with our ministry and life together. Our next Good Sam’s 101 will take place on September 19, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. For more information, or to sign up, use the form below.
Going Deeper
A conversation group for those who have completed Good Sam’s 101 and want to take a next step in connecting with Good Samaritan. Typically, a new group starts in February, April, August, and October, and meets five or six times, rotating between homes or meeting at a public place such as Panera or Starbucks. We come together to talk about what it means to be a follower of Jesus in the Episcopal tradition. We study parts of the Bible that will help us deepen and understand our faith as open-minded followers. In a careful and deliberate way, we share parts of our spiritual stories with one another over time (keeping in mind that sharing is always optional). Finally, we reflect on the core values of Good Samaritan that shape how we gather and serve as a church. For more information, or to sign up, use the form below.
Larger Gatherings
Pub Theology
Once a month from September – May, Good Samaritans gather at a local pub or eatery to enjoy good food and good conversation on spiritual topics. We call this Pub Theology. Typically featuring a guest speaker, Pub Theology provides a chance to learn about the intersections between faith and real life, with time for conversations at tables on topics that are important for our church and larger community. Check our calendar for the next gathering.
Second & Fourth Sundays
Are you looking to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ who loves, serves, and includes all people, no exceptions? Want to learn how to engage with Holy Scripture as a mature follower of Jesus Christ? Our one-hour conversations on the second and fourth Sundays from 11 a.m. – 12 noon rotate between Bible study, spiritual exploration, and forums on various topics that focus on how to be an open minded follower of Jesus who loves, serves, and includes all people, no exceptions. While most of these gatherings are dialogues and two-way conversations, you’re welcome to come and simply listen or observe.

R&R Nights
