Our Dismantling Racism Discussion Series will take place Wednesday evenings, January 8, 15, 22, February 5, and 12, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Participants will explore what it means to respect the dignity of every human being by celebrating the diversity of humanity created by God, recognizing racism, understanding its history and how that affects our present day, and beginning the work of dismantling it, with application to our own everyday conversations and relationships. Participants will gain tools to begin dismantling racism and practice reconciliation in our homes, churches, and communities. The curriculum was developed by the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing and the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. Because each of these conversations builds on the other, participants are asked to attend all gatherings; this isn’t a drop-in/drop-out group. Participation in this group is expected for people going on the Civil Rights Pilgrimage (March 21-24, 2020). Sign up here or email Lara Dreyer for more information.

More information about the pilgrimage is available on our website and an overview of the prerequisite The full Dismantling Racism Curriculum can be found on this flyer.
